Concepción, the second city in importance in Chile, was chosen because of its central location in the country, besides its excellent infrastructure and connectivity by plane, train, or bus.

Being at the sea level, Concepción has a mild weather. In March, minimum temperatures are barely below 10 °C, while the maximum ones do not exceed 20 °C.

The great Concepción that includes the communes of Concepción, Talcahuano, San Pedro de la Paz, Coronel, Chiguayante, Hualpén, Hualqui, Lota, Penco y Tomé, composes a vibrant multicultural community, with several Universities and research centers, and important touristic attractions.

At the dates of the symposium several fruit crops and vineyards, located at the neighbor Ñuble region, will be at harvest. Technical visits will be organized to observe different agroecosystems.

Tourism in Chile

Chile has a very diverse agriculture, according to its diversity of soils and climate, which will be seen during the field trips, including wine grapes, fruits, vegetables, and row crops.

The country offers the possibility of visiting unique sites like Torres del Paine, at the Chilean Patagonia, the lake district, Chiloé island in the south, and Valle de la Luna near San Pedro at the Atacama desert, among others.
